I have been mad about animals even before I could walk. We had our first dog when I was 2 years old, and have had dogs ever since.
When I got married we had a lurcher who I started to do agilty with. This led to obedience training, this was the beginning of a hoby that took over my life. In 1987 I bought my first border collie pup, Zuki, and went all over the country competing in obedience competitions with quite a bit of success. This led to a bit of border collie breeding and to date I have six dogs, five border collies and one sheltie. Whilst on the obedience circuit I palled up with a groomer friend who was to become my teacher in grooming over the next 14 months.
Throughout this time I have kept an active part in showing cattle at the county shows. An interest that came about via my job when I first left school, working on a dairy farm. The grooming came from the passion of turning out animals to a high standard.
I started grooming in 1990. I work from home and have groomed here ever since. I work on my own and great attention is paid to detail.
The dogs are brought to me in the morning. I usually roughly trim these then give them a thorough bath, and conditioner if required, ears are cleaned, nails clipped and anal glands expressed if required, then they are fully groomed out whilst being dried. It is not until this process has been completed that the finishing trim is carried out.
I can trim to owners specifications (within reason) and the dog is ready for collection usually by the early afternoon.
All breeds and crosses are catered for and if they have veterinary shampoos then these can be used instead of the regular ones.
I hope customers will find my service of the highest standard.
Yours Sincerely
Sonja Gaffer
